Auto Accident Part 3 – Why See a CHIROPRACTOR After an Auto Injury

Moramarco Chiropractic, Woburn MA

In our last post on accident injuries we offered an overview of the most common types of injuries that can result. After fractures, head injury, internal bleeding and the more critical types of injuries have been ruled out, if you are experiencing pain often a chiropractor is the best choice for conservative treatment. The reason: because chiropractors help facilitate healing from within for more lasting improvement, conservatively. This is accomplished initially via pain management for injuries focusing on methods to stimulate healing rather than offering drugs which often only masks pain.

If you are sore, stiff, achy, dizzy, experiencing tight muscles, tingling and/or numbness after an accident you and others involved should, at the very least, have an examination by a chiropractor to document your state of health after an accident. If symptoms persist, or return later, you will have the necessary documentation of your condition. We offer time slots most days for patients in acute pain or those who have experienced an injury and need to be seen within 24 hours.

Some problems which can result from an accidental injury:

  • Whiplash
  • Neck Pain
  • Mid back pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Wrist injuries
  • Arm injuries
  • Leg injuries
  • Headaches
  • Muscle strains
  • Muscle sprains

Seeking care after an accident can help reduce the length of time symptoms persist and, believe it or not, can mean lower long-term medical expenses. Usually, handling accident injuries immediately can give the patient the best chance of an easier resolution.

Be careful administering home remedies. This can be helpful if the remedy is the right one, or it can exacerbate injuries and prolong the problem. Heed the advice of a knowing physician to help you on the path to healing, from the beginning. For instance, confirm whether you should use heat or ice, rest or remain active.

As a general rule, the faster a problem is addressed after it begins, the more quickly it can be resolved. Once a problem is chronic, it can take longer to heal. Patients who don’t seek care for a lingering problem find it takes longer to resolve a problem. In the case of an auto injury, immediate care can mean less referrals to doctors, less medications and their potential side effects, and fewer tests from various medical facilities.

At Moramarco Chiropractic Office, no matter the degree of injury, we do everything within our power to help you heal. Often that can be accomplished fairly quickly, other times it takes longer because of varying degrees of injury. The appropriateness of care and a person’s individual state of health at the time of the accident are two reasons people heal at different rates. At any point in the process, if we don’t feel you are healing according to plan, we will recommend alternatives to help you find the relief you need to get well and stay well.

We don’t want you to have unresolved symptoms or pain from a car accident which lingers to the detriment of health in general. Our goal is to help with complete healing so you feel better and can get on with living your healthiest life. We want to help you make your auto accident nothing but a distant memory.

Dr.Moramarco will diagnose and demonstrate visually exactly what your examination helps determine your injuries are, if any. Then he will carefully outline any care you may need. Possible treatments for accidental injuries include: physical modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound therapy, cold laser therapy, hot or cold therapy, chiropractic manipulation, exercise rehabilitation, recommended stretching and strengthening programs, Pnuemex rehabilitation (the Boston area’s only Pneumex unit), massage therapy, acupuncture, nutritional supplementation etc.. If we think you need services we do not offer we will refer you to our network of professionals who may help.

Individual treatment programs depend upon your injuries and examination findings.

Dr. Marc Moramarco has a long-track record of helping Woburn and metro Boston area residents heal from auto injuries. His years of experience can help you recover from your injuries too.
